According to the Recruitment Process Outsourcing Association, recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) is a type of business process outsourcing (BPO) in which an employer outsources all or part of its recruitment procedures to an external service provider (RPOA). An RPO supplier can either provide its own people or assume responsibility for the company’s technology, processes, and reporting.

 RPO differs from other providers such as staffing firms and contingent/ retained search firms in that it takes responsibility for the design and administration of the recruitment process as well as the outcomes.

“The number one reason firms succeed, struggle, or fail directly corresponds with who they hire,” says RPOA co-founder and Talent Acquisition expert John Younger.
